In 2006 the Barcelona Festival of Song commissioned Bolivian composer to write a song cycle to be debuted at its opening concert in Barcelona.  The result of this adventure was the song cycle Alquimia, an incredible set of songs written using a very eclectic and contemporary language, at the same time that reflect the composer´s national origin.

The poetry is by the same composer and is very subtle and profound.  It combines love and social elements. It is a very interesting and beautiful cycle and a challenge for singer and pianist.

The cycle was premiered at the Orfeo Gracienc in Barcelona by soprano Patricia Caicedo and pianist Pau Casan at the opening concert of the Barcelona Festival of Song 2006.
