To everyone resonating with music, health, and identity— November marks the beginning of the concert season — a time when music fills our halls, churches, and communities. As we rehearse for recitals, prepare our students, and plan our holiday performances, we also have an opportunity to reflect on what our repertoire says about who we are. Each song we choose carries a story. When we sing in Spanish, Catalan, or Portuguese, we give voice to rich and diverse traditions that have shaped our collective identity. By performing this repertoire, we honor cultural memory, expand our students’ perspectives, and make our stages more inclusive — more reflective of the global society we live in. Music connects us, not only across cultures but within ourselves. Singing is a way of caring for our emotional and physical health — an act of balance, presence, and empathy. This November, I invite you to explore new scores, discover new stories, and share music that unites us. Let’s celebrate this season by singing across borders. Patricia
