The Latin American and Iberian Art Song Challenge is a unique opportunity for singers of all ages and voice types to learn and perform art song repertoire in Spanish, Portuguese, and Catalan.
There will be special rewards for singers who submit songs in Portuguese, Catalan, Indigenous languages, and songs by women composers.
All participants will receive special discounts on scores, books, classes, and CDs.
The top two performances will be awarded a half scholarship to participate in the Barcelona Festival of Song 2025, the go-to place to learn the history and interpretation of the Latin American and Iberian art song genre.
The top twelve performances will appear in the Global Online Concert to celebrate the International Day of Latin American and Iberian Art Song, streamed on May 11th, 2025, simultaneously on Facebook, YouTube, and the Barcelona Festival of Song websites.
After registering, you will be sent to a page that explains the characteristics of the video you have to submit. In essence, it has to be a recent video, created specifically for this event. Videos recorded more than two months ago will not be accepted. When recording the video, you must include a short 30-second introduction of yourself and the piece. Detailed information will be provided after registration.
