Si no fuera por ti is a Colombian art song for voice and piano by Jaime León Ferro (1921–2015), setting poetry by Colombian poet Antonio Llanos (1905–1978). Written in 1983, the song reflects on how love transforms perception, giving meaning and emotional depth to everyday experience. Images of light, melancholy, dreams, flowers, solitude, and sunset unfold through a lyrical vocal line and a harmonically rich piano part.
León creates a broad expressive arc through recurring triplet textures, substantial harmonic shifts, changes of key, and contrasting sections before returning to the opening material. The final lines expand the poem toward an intimate meditation on love, poetry, and the beauty of the world. This product includes the sheet music for voice and piano.
